Back To Business
Good to see you back here, it's been far too long.
Those of you who were familiar with what my website looked like back in the day might be wondering what's up with the stripped down version of the monologue joke website you may have visited a few times in the past.
The answer is simple, but I suppose I should explain myself.
One of the hardest things about being a creative writer is that the brain often comes up with more words than you can crank out on a daily basis. I spend hours of my day tinkering with the words to find the most perfect way of expressing a thought, a note or a joke. More often than naught, efforts to redo a website become bogged down with the feeling the design or the text or the words just aren't good enough.
No longer.
As somebody who can be a bit of perfectionist, I know the drawbacks that come with spending too much time on a certain project. We get more concerned with making sure the website looks good, sometimes sending the actual content of the site further down the priority list. And when a writer starts to care more about the aesthetic look of it all, it places the words as a secondary consideration.
With that thought in mind, I decided to take away all of the best elements the previous Tumblr website had to offer and start all over again. This time, with a transparent process of rebuilding a website that will hopefully serve as a time capsule of some of my favorite work.
I am looking to rebuild my online portfolio one section at a time. The very first of my efforts being the reboot of the talk show that is near and dear to my heart, Early Late Night.
If you didn't get the chance to see a video I made yesterday on the official Early Late Night Facebook page, feel free to take a few minutes to do so in the embedded video below.
In the coming days, I'll have more updates about what you can come to expect from this website. And you can follow along as I piece together some of my favorite writing, podcasts, and videos samples of my work.
As always, thank you very much for all of your support and I hope you'll follow along!
